PHASE 1
For phase 1, the methodology for the project was stated as well as the objectives to achieve in the final delivery. Also, the P&I of the process was developed.
Main Objective
Perform the analysis of the Amatrol's T5554 Analytic Process Control System by identifying the equipment's elements, executing tests for the chemical solutions and understanding the automation control of the system using the knowledge and theoretical information obtained during the course.
Specific Objectives
· Perform manual pH tests for the chemical acid and basic solutions.
· Perform automated tests for the chemical solutions to prove the functionality of sensors and actuators.
· Obtain the characterization of the open loop and closed loop system.
· Tune a PID controller using the pole placement technique.
Gantt Chart
In order to successfully complete the project, it was necessary to organize the activities in a timeline using the Gantt chart technique; as it is known, projects have external factors that can impact the stated timeline, therefore the presented diagram shows the planned dates for completing the project activities, some of them were not achieved in the expected time; however, were completed before the deadline. As well, table 1 shows the breakdown of the activities to be completed and works as a complement to read the Gantt chart.
